Nine of us turned up others no doubt deterred by the dire forecast of storms, thunder and lightning etc. and even more members preferring to jangle their nerves by watching the America’s Cup. Oh ye of little faith! Neil obviously has a special relationship with the weather gods and we had a perfect sunny day. Not a drop of rain! A fantastic day out!
Most of us did the Boulder track to Islington – Campbell and Rod took in the Wrecks track too and Neil and Dora did the route via McKenzies bay. We met at the summit – at various times – for lunch – a bask in the sunshine while admiring the panoramic views of the Hauraki Gulf . Then back down via three different routes to the ferry.
A wonderful day out – thanks, Neil – and can you let me in on the secret of organising perfect weather some time?
